A lot has been written about things great leaders do. But just as important as the actions these leaders choose to take is what they choose not to do. Great leaders make intentional choices about their time and actions to move themselves and their companies forward.

- They don’t ignore criticism. Weak leaders often ignore criticism because it damages their egos. But successful leaders listen to feedback and criticism and don’t take it personally. They are self-aware and view feedback as a chance to learn and improve.
- They don’t let their emotions take control. Leaders have to know how to manage themselves before they can successfully manage others. Great leaders stay even-keeled and know how to regulate their emotions, even during challenging times. They don’t make rash decisions or let their emotions get the best of them.
