City of Oakland Appoints Tony Batalla as New Chief Information Officer
Oakland, CA – Oakland City Administrator Ed Reiskin today announced the appointment of Mr. Anton “Tony” Batalla as the City’s new Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective May 2. In this role, Mr. Batalla will direct the Information Technology Department, overseeing a $37.5 million budget with a staff of 85.

His equity-driven focus on digital inclusion and expertise in expanding community access to government through technology – along with a keen focus on core system and infrastructure robustness and reliability – will be pivotal to Oakland’s efforts to enhance service delivery through digital innovation,” said City Administrator Ed Reiskin.
